Austrian Airlines is set to take delivery of its fourth Boeing 787 today, with the aircraft carrying the registration OE-LPI. The latest Dreamliner adds to the carrier’s growing widebody fleet as it continues the long-haul renewal programme built around the 787 family.
The aircraft forms part of Austrian’s ongoing fleet modernisation, which is aimed at replacing older widebody types with more efficient long-haul jets. A fourth 787 gives the airline additional flexibility for capacity planning on intercontinental routes and extends the gradual build-up of its Dreamliner operation.
The delivery also underlines the steady pace of Austrian’s widebody transition. With OE-LPI entering the fleet, the airline moves further along a series of 787 additions rather than relying on a single aircraft introduction, supporting a more consistent reshaping of its long-haul network and fleet structure.
