Air Greenland prepares first A320neo in Tallinn for Copenhagen–Ilulissat service

Air Greenland’s first Airbus A320neo is being readied for service in Tallinn, with the ex-SAS aircraft LN-RGO set to join the carrier’s fleet for its new Copenhagen–Ilulissat route. The jet made its last commercial SAS flight from Oslo to Copenhagen on 26 August before being ferried to Estonia the same evening.

The aircraft is expected to enter service in mid-April 2027 and has been refurbished with 174 seats, including 18 in Premium class, together with an internal streaming system. The deployment gives Air Greenland a narrowbody type suited to its expanding Denmark-Greenland network, which is being reshaped around direct services to Ilulissat.

The A320neo is part of Air Greenland’s wider fleet expansion and is intended to support the carrier’s new route pattern between Copenhagen and northern Greenland. The aircraft will complement existing long-haul operations and is due to take over work on the Ilulissat route after the initial opening phase, when interim capacity is being used until the new jet is available.
