Boeing and Korean Air have finalised an order for 103 aircraft in Seoul, covering 20 777-9s, 25 787-10s, 50 737-10s and eight 777-8 Freighters. The deal completes Korean Air’s procurement commitment first outlined in August 2025 and ranks among the airline’s largest fleet transactions.
The agreement comes as Korean Air prepares for a broader fleet expansion and integration with Asiana Airlines. Reuters reported the package at $36.2 billion at list prices, while the full commercial arrangement also includes engines and long-term maintenance terms with GE Aerospace and CFM International. Boeing framed the order within wider U.S.-South Korea industrial ties and bilateral trade discussions.
The aircraft mix spans widebody passenger jets, single-aisle aircraft and freighters, giving Korean Air additional long-haul, medium-haul and cargo capacity. The 777-9 and 777-8 Freighter orders extend the carrier’s exposure to Boeing’s next-generation widebody and cargo programmes, while the 737-10 commitment supports narrowbody fleet renewal.
