ANA Group’s trading arm, ANA Trading, has agreed to acquire 100% of Japanese lifestyle retailer Akomeya Tokyo from Sazaby League, in a move that extends the group’s retail strategy beyond airport channels into broader consumer sales. The transaction was signed on 14 September and is expected to close by 30 October, pending antitrust approval.
Akomeya Tokyo is based in Tokyo’s Shibuya ward and sells rice, food, tableware and cooking goods through stores, restaurants and an online shop. The brand operates 38 stores and two Akomeya Shokudo dining locations, giving ANA Trading a more established urban retail platform to pair with its airport sales network.
The deal price has not been disclosed. ANA Trading plans to combine its retail and distribution experience with Akomeya Tokyo’s merchandising and sales capabilities, creating a wider commercial base for the ANA Group as it seeks growth outside aviation.
