Adventia, the pilot school linked to the University of Salamanca, has started the 2026-2027 academic year with record enrolment at its Matacán aerodrome base near Salamanca, Spain. Student numbers are up by about 30% from a year earlier and are close to the school’s maximum available places, as demand for commercial pilot training remains strong. The intake covers the 64th integrated programme and the 65th degree cohort in commercial airline piloting.
The school is also renewing its training fleet with eight Cirrus SR20 G7+ aircraft and matching simulators before year-end, alongside wider investment in training technology. The expansion comes as Adventia works to increase capacity while maintaining throughput for future airline pilots. The higher intake underlines sustained demand for cockpit crew training in Spain, where schools continue to adapt fleets and simulator provision to meet airline recruitment needs.
