Thornton Aviation has completed a Collins Pro Line Fusion flight deck upgrade on a Bombardier Challenger 604, delivering the aircraft with a scheduled maintenance package. The retrofit replaced cathode-ray tube displays with three 14.1-inch touchscreen LCD units and was completed ahead of schedule and within budget.
The upgrade modernises the Challenger 604 cockpit with a contemporary touchscreen avionics suite, extending the aircraft’s operational relevance as operators continue to invest in retrofit programmes for legacy large-cabin business jets. The Pro Line Fusion package is designed for the Challenger 604 with features including integrated touchscreen displays and updated flight deck functionality.
The work highlights continued demand for avionics modernisation in the business aviation aftermarket, where operators often combine cockpit upgrades with maintenance events to reduce downtime and streamline project execution. Thornton Aviation’s delivery adds another example of scheduled maintenance being paired with a major avionics retrofit on an established long-range aircraft type.
