Breeze pilots seek federal mediation as contract talks remain deadlocked

Breeze Airways pilots represented by the Air Line Pilots Association have requested federal mediation in their contract dispute after negotiations stalled over a new agreement for the Salt Lake City-based carrier. Breeze confirmed the filing and said talks with the union and the National Mediation Board were continuing, while both sides have already reached tentative agreements on several sections of the contract.

ALPA described the move as a response to years of deadlocked bargaining and said the union was seeking a formal process to advance the talks. Breeze rejected claims that it had refused to bargain in good faith and said progress had been made during recent exchanges on remaining sections. The mediation request leaves the next step in the hands of the National Mediation Board, which has not yet indicated when it may act.
