Emirates carries more than 8.6 million passengers as capacity rebounds to 93%

Emirates carried more than 8.6 million passengers across July and August as demand stayed firm through the summer, while capacity recovered to about 93% of pre-disruption levels and roughly 98% of the network returned to service. The figures underline the Dubai carrier’s near-complete operational rebound after earlier regional disruption, ahead of the peak winter travel period.

Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer Adnan Kazim linked the improvement to resilient travel demand across Emirates’ global network. Reuters later reported the same underlying update, matching the carrier’s latest recovery metrics and passenger volume. Regional coverage placed the summer total at around 8.7 million, but the Reuters account’s wording of “more than 8.6 million” aligns most closely with the original event.

The update is a useful gauge for Gulf aviation demand and for the pace of recovery at a major hub carrier. It also indicates that Emirates has largely rebuilt its flying programme, with winter bookings reportedly strengthening on some routes.
