Vietjet and Thales sign MRO, AI and cybersecurity agreements during Vietnam’s France visit

Vietjet and Thales have signed maintenance and cooperation agreements in Paris covering the airline’s Airbus A320, A321, A321neo, A321XLR, A330 and A330neo fleets. The deal includes a Repair-By-The-Hour contract for avionics support and a separate memorandum to broaden collaboration in digital aviation, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity during Vietnamese leader Tô Lâm’s official visit to France, with French President Emmanuel Macron present.

The maintenance arrangement is designed to improve technical reliability, raise fleet availability and reduce operating costs across Vietjet’s narrow-body and wide-body Airbus fleet. The digital aviation memorandum expands work on avionics, secure cloud computing, predictive maintenance and decision-support tools, strengthening the airline’s technical support and operational efficiency.

The agreements were signed at the Élysée Palace and form part of a wider Vietnam-France diplomatic visit that also covered business and technology ties. For Vietjet, the partnership extends its existing support network with a major aerospace technology group at a time when airlines are investing more heavily in digital systems and data-driven maintenance.
