Türkiye’s AKINCI drone strikes maritime target with new UAV-300 missile

Baykar’s Bayraktar AKINCI UCAV has hit a maritime target at more than 250 km using Roketsan’s new UAV-300 supersonic ballistic missile in a test over the Black Sea. The aircraft took off from the Çorlu Flight Training and Test Centre in Tekirdağ, flew to the test area off Sinop and returned on its planned route after the firing.

The test was shown on 11 September and described as the first live firing of the UAV-300. Murat İkinci, Roketsan’s general manager, linked the trial to a broader missile family that can be used by both unmanned aircraft and fighter jets. Baykar founder Selçuk Bayraktar also shared footage of the launch.

The strike extends Türkiye’s long-range precision attack options from an unmanned platform and underscores the integration of an indigenous air-launched ballistic weapon with a combat drone. Coverage in Türkiye Today described the UAV-300 as a new long-range munition intended to expand the country’s air-launched strike capability.
