Brussels Airport faced a second consecutive night of drone-related disruption concerns on Saturday evening after a drone was detected in the airspace near the hub, this time on Skeyes’ digital monitoring equipment as well as visually. The incident, which occurred around 21:30 local time, triggered another temporary interruption before operations resumed, while Brussels Airport reported no direct alert and no operational disruption.
Skeyes, the Belgian air navigation service provider, opened an investigation into the sighting. Belgian media reported that the previous night’s drone observation led to a short suspension lasting about half an hour, and authorities treated the latest case as a repeat event. No information was released on the drone type, who controlled it, or whether the two incidents were linked.
The airport is one of Belgium’s busiest passenger hubs, and repeated drone sightings have become a growing operational and security concern after earlier disruptions at Belgian airports.
