Swiss International Air Lines has taken delivery of its third Airbus A350-900, HB-IFC, in Zurich, adding another aircraft to its long-haul fleet renewal programme. The aircraft, named Zug, arrived from Toulouse and is due to enter commercial service in October, supporting the airline’s planned expansion of intercontinental operations.
HB-IFC is the third of 10 A350-900s Swiss expects to receive by 2030, following Lausanne and Delémont. The new twin-engine jet will operate with the Swiss Senses cabin, configured with First, Business, Premium Economy and Economy classes.
The aircraft is scheduled for long-haul routes including Zurich-Shanghai and Zurich-Johannesburg, as Swiss continues to replace and modernise part of its intercontinental fleet. The arrival in Zurich followed a delivery flight from Toulouse, underlining the pace of the airline’s widebody renewal strategy.
