Ryanair flight FR9457, a Boeing 737 MAX 8200 operating from Bologna to Dublin, suffered a minor wingtip impact while landing at Dublin Airport on Wednesday amid strong crosswinds. The aircraft rolled sharply to the right in the final approach, touched or scraped the runway with the wingtip, and executed a go-around before landing safely on the second attempt about 15 minutes later.
All passengers disembarked normally and no injuries were reported. Engineers repaired the wingtip before the aircraft returned to service the following day. The jet involved was a relatively new 737 MAX 8200 fitted with Advanced Technology winglets, and the incident was described as a minor wing-tip impact rather than a serious accident. The event drew attention because it occurred during a difficult landing in severe wind conditions, but the aircraft remained under control throughout and completed the flight without further disruption.
