Swiss International Air Lines is due to receive its third Airbus A350-900, HB-IFC, in Zurich on Friday evening on delivery flight LX5291 from Toulouse. The brand-new aircraft, named Zug, is scheduled to depart the Airbus delivery centre around 17:00 and land in Zurich between 18:30 and 19:00, after a planned flyover of its namesake city.
The ferry flight is expected to operate under the callsign SWR3RD. The arrival follows Swiss’s earlier A350 deliveries as the Lufthansa Group carrier continues to phase in the type for long-haul fleet renewal. The new widebody is part of the airline’s broader modernisation programme, replacing older intercontinental aircraft and expanding the carrier’s A350 operation at its Zurich base.
