SalamAir will open ticket sales for a new Muscat-Copenhagen service via Baghdad, with the first flight scheduled for 14 November and operations planned twice weekly. The low-cost carrier will sell the Baghdad-Copenhagen sector under fifth-freedom rights, allowing passengers to book travel between Iraq and Denmark as well as via Muscat.
The route links Oman, Iraq and Denmark through a scheduled stop at Baghdad International Airport, with Muscat International Airport and Copenhagen Kastrup Airport at either end of the service. SalamAir is positioning the new connection around leisure, business and visiting-friends-and-relatives demand, while extending its European footprint beyond its existing Baghdad operations.
The Baghdad-Copenhagen leg is the commercial highlight of the route, as it creates a rare fifth-freedom opportunity in the market. Reported introductory one-way fares start at OMR 130.99 from Muscat to Copenhagen via Baghdad and OMR 99.99 from Baghdad to Copenhagen. Publicly available details do not include flight numbers or a full day-by-day operating pattern.
