Air Cairo orders 15 Airbus A320neo aircraft at El Alamein airshow

Air Cairo has placed a firm order for 15 Airbus A320neo aircraft at the El Alamein International Airshow in Egypt, making its first direct purchase from Airbus. The narrowbody deal supports the carrier’s fleet expansion plan as it looks to grow from more than 45 aircraft today to more than 130 by 2034.

The order deepens Air Cairo’s shift towards owned Airbus narrowbodies after years of relying on lease-based fleet additions. The airline already operates a sizeable Airbus A320-family fleet, with the A320neo central to its short- and medium-haul strategy.

The transaction was presented during the airshow, turning the event into both a fleet-financing milestone and a public showcase for the company’s long-term growth ambitions. Airbus did not disclose financial terms, delivery timing or engine selection in the available reports.
