Nayak takes majority stake in Portugal’s LAS Group

Nayak Aircraft Services has taken a majority stake in Portugal’s LAS Group, bringing the maintenance provider into its European aviation services platform. The transaction covers LAS Maintenance, LAS Training and SLOT-Human Resources, while the LAS brand remains in use and day-to-day management stays unchanged. João Louro, the group’s founder, remains involved as an owner and continues to lead LAS Maintenance.

The deal extends Nayak’s footprint in Europe’s aircraft maintenance market and deepens its reach in Portugal. Financial terms were not disclosed, including the size of the stake acquired. The companies also withheld details on the purchase price.

LAS will continue to operate under its existing structure, with local leadership retained across the business. The arrangement keeps the Portuguese group’s management framework intact while linking it to a larger cross-border network of MRO and aviation services, a move that fits the wider consolidation trend in the European maintenance sector.
