Harald Gloy to take helm at Lufthansa Technik

Lufthansa Technik will elevate chief operating officer Harald Gloy to chief executive from 1 February 2027, replacing Soeren Stark, who is retiring. The internal succession keeps leadership of the German maintenance, repair and overhaul specialist within the company, with the supervisory board approving Gloy for a five-year term at a time when airline support capacity remains commercially important.

Gloy has spent more than 25 years at Lufthansa Technik and has served on its board since 2022. His move from COO to CEO preserves continuity at one of the Lufthansa Group’s key operating businesses, which supports airlines worldwide with maintenance services, component work and engineering solutions.

Stark’s departure closes a period in which Lufthansa Technik has relied on experienced internal management to navigate demand for MRO services and ongoing fleet support needs. The choice of a long-serving executive over an external candidate points to stability in the leadership transition as the company enters the next planning cycle.
