Flybondi starts staff transfers to new OCA Air cargo venture

Flybondi has begun transferring parts of its workforce to a new cargo-focused company linked to the OCA brand as the Argentine low-cost carrier moves deeper into a restructuring that could shift its business away from passenger flying. The plan centres on OCA Air and OC Support S.A., with the new operation expected to start on a small scale with three aircraft.

More than 200 employees were reportedly informed about the transition, while ramp staff and some operations control centre workers already signed transfer agreements in earlier reporting. Crew contracts for the new company remained unfinished, leaving the timetable for a wider reorganisation unclear.

The change comes as Flybondi faces financial and labour strain, with union groups challenging the transfers before Argentina’s labour authority. Reports also indicate the carrier could continue flying under its current brand for a limited period while the restructuring advances, with the new venture potentially entering service between October and November. The move points to a broader reallocation of staff and assets inside one of Argentina’s best-known low-cost airlines.
