AirBaltic secures interim financing to support restructuring and liquidity

airBaltic has agreed terms for up to €257 million in interim financing as it seeks to shore up liquidity and carry out a revised business plan. The package is tied to new bonds maturing on 26 February 2027, with €180 million expected to become available shortly after bondholder approval and a further €77 million dependent on additional conditions. A bondholder meeting is set for 11 September, while flight operations are expected to continue normally.

the financing is intended to refinance aircraft- and engine-related liabilities and cover working costs including maintenance, repairs and airport charges. The transaction still requires approval from both bondholders and shareholders, leaving the deal short of final completion. The fresh funding comes as the Latvian carrier works through broader restructuring pressure and tries to stabilise its balance sheet while implementing an updated business plan.
