ATR has secured a firm order from Indian regional carrier FLY91 for 40 ATR 72-600 turboprops worth about US$1 billion, with deliveries scheduled from 2027 to 2032. The New Delhi agreement is ATR’s largest firm order in almost a decade and the biggest ever placed by a regional airline.
The deal lifts ATR’s 2026 order intake to 54 aircraft, already ahead of its full-year net total for 2025. For FLY91, the order supports a planned expansion beyond its current six-aircraft fleet as it targets more underserved and unserved Indian cities. The Goa-based airline expects to grow substantially over the next few years, with the new aircraft forming the core of that network build-out.
The order underlines continued demand in India for short-haul turboprops on thinner regional routes, where the ATR 72-600 remains a central type. It also gives ATR fresh momentum in 2026 after a period in which regional aircraft demand has remained highly focused on markets with limited airport infrastructure and lower-density traffic.
