LATAM to base Embraer E195-E2 maintenance in Curitiba, Brasília and São Paulo-Guarulhos

LATAM Brasil will base scheduled maintenance for its Embraer E195-E2 fleet in Curitiba, Brasília and São Paulo-Guarulhos, with the three sites expected to be ready from October ahead of the aircraft’s planned commercial entry into service in November. Curitiba will serve as the main maintenance hub, while the other two airports will also handle routine work as LATAM prepares the jet for domestic operations in Brazil.

The carrier has been building the support structure for the E195-E2 since January, including training programmes, facility upgrades and the purchase of specialised tooling. Curitiba will be able to handle up to three aircraft overnight and as many as 21 scheduled checks a week. Guarulhos will also be set up for up to 21 weekly maintenance events, while Brasília will support up to seven.

Across the three bases, LATAM expects capacity for up to 49 scheduled maintenance events a week and 127 mechanics assigned to the type. The network gives the airline domestic maintenance coverage as it inducts Embraer’s regional jet into its Brazil operation.
