Iberojet is expanding its long-haul leisure network with new nonstop services to El Salvador from Barcelona and Madrid in September 2026, using its mixed Airbus fleet to support a growing transatlantic programme. The Spanish carrier now operates seven Airbus aircraft, including two A350-900s, two A330-900neos, one A330-300 and one A320, with the widebodies assigned to long-haul flying and the A320 used seasonally on short-haul leisure routes.
The airline has added several long-haul markets in recent years, including Spain-Honduras and Spain-Costa Rica, while its Madrid-Bangkok service remains the only nonstop option on that city pair. Alberto López, Iberojet’s accountable manager, indicated the carrier is still assessing further expansion opportunities, including possible routes to Colombia. The strategy places the leisure operator alongside Iberia and Air Europa as a third Spanish player in long-haul markets, but with a focus on thinner routes and less direct competition.
