Pegasus cancels Russia flights after Ukraine airspace warning

Pegasus Airlines cancelled several flights to Russia and some aircraft turned back after Ukraine warned that Russian airspace had become dangerous, while flydubai flagged possible delays and diversions on its services. The disruption hit Moscow-area airports hard, with Vnukovo reporting six arriving and six departing Pegasus cancellations and wider schedule instability across the capital’s aviation network.

Pegasus described its cancellations as the result of technical and operational reasons and later indicated that remaining services were operating as scheduled. Flydubai said it was monitoring conditions and adjusting routings where necessary as the situation evolved overnight.

Sheremetyevo and Vnukovo recorded numerous cancellations and delays, adding to pressure on foreign carriers that still serve Russia. The latest disruption highlights how the war in Ukraine is increasingly feeding into civil aviation flows into Moscow, where airlines are reassessing route safety, schedule reliability and operational risk.
