A 17-year-old fleeing police crashed through the perimeter fence at Portsmouth International Airport in New Hampshire and struck a parked PlaneSense Pilatus PC-12 on Friday evening. A ground-support tractor was also hit, and no injuries were reported. The aircraft was at PlaneSense’s Portsmouth headquarters awaiting routine maintenance, and the operator’s flight operations were not disrupted.
Police identified the driver as Wyatt Seely and said the vehicle had been pursued after an attempted stop on Durham Street. The Mustang entered airport property without headlights before colliding first with the tractor and then the business turboprop. Post-incident images showed severe damage to the PC-12, including a severed left wing and collapsed landing gear, while the car was also badly damaged.
The incident put the spotlight on perimeter security at an airport that supports active business aviation activity. PlaneSense personnel assisted at the scene before emergency responders arrived, and the driver faced misdemeanor charges following the crash.
