Garuda Indonesia’s planned consolidation with Pelita Air remains under review, with no final decision on the transaction structure, ownership model or timetable. The Indonesian flag carrier is still weighing the proposal with shareholders and related parties while market speculation around a possible merger continues to move its shares.
The two airlines at the centre of the discussion are PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. and PT Pelita Air Service, the Pertamina-owned operator. Garuda has kept the process at the study and discussion stage, and the company has not confirmed any completed deal. The unresolved questions include which entity would survive, how liabilities would be handled and what valuation basis would apply.
Garuda has also maintained that day-to-day operations, customer service and its wider transformation programme continue unchanged. Flight schedules and service commitments have not been announced for revision, even as the consolidation theme remains part of a longer-running strategy debate that has circulated since September 2025.
