ALMA Air has secured a provisional operating permit from Aerocivil, clearing a formal path toward amphibious airline operations in Colombia. The authorization covers non-scheduled public air carrier services for passengers, cargo and mail, including air taxi missions, after more than two years of technical and regulatory work and over 75 water takeoff and landing cycles at Ayapel, Mompox and the Guatapé Reservoir. The company still needs final institutional and regulatory approvals before launching revenue service, but the permit advances its push to reintroduce amphibious connectivity for riverside communities, tourism routes and thinly served markets.
