Dassault Aviation has pulled sensitive equipment from sites near Bordeaux as the Gironde wildfire pushed its Mérignac plant into standstill. The transfer from Martignas-sur-Jalle and Cestas to Mérignac and Air Base 106 keeps critical gear away from the fire front while Rafale final assembly, Falcon work and flight testing sit idle. Most staff at Mérignac and Martignas have been told to stay home, with only transfer and site-protection teams on duty. The move reflects a wider industrial defence response around Bordeaux, where the fire has threatened aerospace and missile facilities and forced pre-emptive protection of production assets and logistics chains.
