Private jet activity kept climbing in the first half of 2026, with fractional flying setting the pace as operators shifted toward shared-access models. Global business aviation reached 2.44 million departures in January through June, up 4.2% year on year, while North America generated 1.77 million flights, or 65% of the total, and grew 3.5%. Fractional departures advanced 11.7% in North America, ahead of charter at 3.1% and private operations at 0.3%. Light jets led aircraft-category growth at 6.1%, while large-cabin activity fell 1.8%, pointing to a market skewed toward shorter missions and higher utilisation.
