Volotea launches Berlin–Florence service from BER

Volotea has launched nonstop flights between Berlin Brandenburg Airport and Florence, opening the first direct link between the German capital region and the Tuscan city. The route operates up to twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with an Airbus A319 configured with 156 seats.

The flying time is just under two hours. BER has scheduled the service for selected travel periods rather than year-round operation, covering September and October, the Christmas and New Year period until early January, and then resuming from late March with the start of the summer timetable.

BER described Florence as a new destination for the airport and a fresh addition to its Italy network. The route is aimed primarily at leisure demand from Berlin and Brandenburg, giving travellers another direct option to Tuscany without a connection.
