Vietnam Airlines has signed memoranda of understanding with Visa and Amazon Web Services in New York to broaden digital payments, loyalty, cloud and AI capabilities as part of a wider cooperation push during a high-level Vietnamese visit to the United States.
Under the Visa agreement, the carrier will examine co-branded cards and digital payment solutions across its commercial operations, agency network and supply chain, while also looking to expand Lotusmiles into a broader lifestyle and partner loyalty platform. The plan centres on improving the passenger journey from booking and payment through to airport services and destination experiences.
The AWS partnership focuses on Vietnam Airlines’ transition into a digital airline, with work areas covering artificial intelligence, generative AI, cloud computing, cybersecurity, inflight connectivity and digital cabin services. The two sides will also explore data platforms, IT modernisation and operational uses for AI across passenger services, flight operations, maintenance and corporate management.
