Thai Airways to add premium economy on 777-300ERs from mid-2027

Thai Airways will introduce a new premium economy cabin and refreshed business class across its Boeing 777-300ER fleet from mid-2027, beginning a widebody cabin overhaul that will reach 14 aircraft. The retrofit programme also includes updated economy seating and larger in-flight entertainment screens, alongside broader interior changes aimed at standardising the long-haul product.

The new premium economy cabin is expected to feature about 28 seats per aircraft, while the business-class refresh is designed to give the airline a more competitive offering on intercontinental routes. The work is set to continue through 2027 and into 2028, with the 777-300ERs forming the first phase of a wider fleet-modernisation plan.

The cabin update comes as Thai Airways seeks to sharpen its long-haul product mix and improve consistency across premium cabins. The carrier has also indicated that future widebody deliveries and retrofits will follow the same direction, supporting a more unified onboard experience across its international network.
