Thai Airways approves compensation for flood-affected passengers

Thai Airways has approved compensation measures for passengers affected by heavy rain and flooding between 26 and 30 September 2026. The scheme covers flight delays, cancellations and late baggage delivery, with claims assessed individually according to each passenger’s circumstances, actual losses and applicable laws rather than a fixed payment.

Passengers affected by delayed or cancelled flights can submit compensation claims through Thai Airways’ Flight Disruption website and request certificates for insurance purposes. Claims, including those relating to delayed baggage, can also be filed at the airline’s Customer Care Center at its headquarters on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road in Bangkok. The centre is open daily, including public holidays, from 08:30 to 16:00.

Thai Airways will expedite the review of submitted claims and contact applicants with the outcome. The flooding followed heavy rain in Bangkok and surrounding areas from around 25 September, disrupting operations and contributing to shortages of frontline staff. The airline has not specified a universal compensation amount, the number of eligible passengers or a final processing timetable.
