Textron Aviation has secured FAA certification for Gogo Galileo HDX on the Cessna Citation Longitude and Citation Latitude business jets, adding a factory-supported low-Earth-orbit connectivity option to the two models. The system uses Eutelsat’s OneWeb network and offers a preferred worldwide service rate guaranteed for three years. Factory-new aircraft delivered from 2028 will be eligible for installation at no charge.
Galileo HDX is designed to provide low-latency, high-speed internet connectivity globally. Its fuselage-mounted antenna is intended to simplify installation and operation compared with other satellite-connectivity systems, allowing the equipment to be offered as an integrated aircraft option rather than solely as a later retrofit.
Textron Aviation describes the no-charge installation arrangement as an industry first for an original equipment manufacturer. The company has not disclosed the certification number, detailed approval limitations, installation timetable for in-service aircraft or the precise terms of the three-year service rate.
The approval expands connectivity choices across Textron Aviation’s business-jet portfolio. The manufacturer has also made Starlink available on other Cessna Citation and Beechcraft aircraft through supplemental type certification, giving operators access to competing low-Earth-orbit satellite networks through different installation programmes.
