Swedish airport operator Swedavia will introduce discounts on landing and passenger charges at Stockholm Arlanda from 1 January 2027 for airlines operating frequent services between the hub and smaller airports. The scheme covers domestic and international routes, with Gothenburg, Malmö and Luleå among the Swedish examples and Gdańsk and Bergen among the international destinations. Swedavia values the discounts at nearly SEK 1 billion over five years.
The new model is intended to encourage airlines to maintain or expand regular links to and from Arlanda, supporting domestic connectivity and onward connections through the airport. Swedavia has not published the discount rates, eligibility thresholds or airlines that may qualify.
Existing incentive programmes for airlines launching new routes or increasing traffic will remain unchanged. The new discounts are therefore an additional element of Arlanda’s charges structure, rather than a replacement for those incentives.
