Southwest Airlines and LOT Polish Airlines have launched an interline partnership that lets travellers book a single itinerary combining flights on both carriers. The arrangement, effective from 1 September, links Southwest’s U.S. domestic network with LOT’s long-haul service via Los Angeles, Miami and San Francisco, giving customers a simpler way to connect to Warsaw and beyond.
The partnership is focused on itinerary coordination and through-checked baggage rather than a codeshare structure or wider loyalty reciprocity. Southwest now lists LOT as its 11th airline partner, and partner itineraries can be booked through LOT, travel agents and online travel channels, with Southwest planning to offer booking on its own website later. For LOT customers, the agreement opens access to more U.S. destinations on one ticket.
LOT’s Warsaw hub gives Southwest customers a route into Central and Eastern Europe as well as farther-flung markets including India, Japan and South Korea. Southwest’s partner information also confirms that its shared gateways with LOT are Los Angeles, Miami and San Francisco, underlining the role of the partnership as a network-linking rather than a joint commercial operation.
