Qatar Airways, IAG and MASkargo launch trial cargo network ahead of joint business start

Qatar Airways Cargo, IAG Cargo and MASkargo have completed the first trial shipment under their planned global cargo joint business, moving copper foil from Kuala Lumpur to Chicago via Doha and Dublin. The test covered 12.1 tonnes of cargo and forms part of preparations for a commercial launch later in 2026.

The shipment is the first operational trial since the three carriers unveiled the partnership in April 2025. It is designed to combine their networks across multiple hubs and give shippers access to more than 400 destinations with greater routing flexibility. The carriers are still carrying out integration work and operational trials before the joint business goes live.

The collaboration also builds on earlier operational alignment, including IAG Cargo’s role as ground handling agent for Qatar Airways Cargo in Dublin and Madrid. The partners have not disclosed a final launch date or confirmed full regulatory completion for the venture.
