Norse Atlantic trims New York service from winter schedule

Norse Atlantic Airways is cutting New York JFK from its winter 2026/27 programme, leaving London Gatwick-Orlando as its only scheduled transatlantic route during the season. The suspension of JFK services from London Gatwick and Rome Fiumicino starts in late October, ending the airline’s New York presence for the winter and reducing its U.S. network to a single leisure route.

Latest schedule filings show the JFK services continue through the end of the summer season before regular operations stop from 25 October. Aviation Week estimated the winter withdrawal removes about 83,200 seats across the two New York routes, based on OAG schedule data.

Frans Leenaars, Norse Atlantic’s commercial director, linked the changes to persistently high fuel prices and capacity management, while also confirming adjustments to the October and November timetable. The move follows a broader network reset that concentrates winter flying on fewer long-haul leisure markets, with Orlando remaining the carrier’s lone transatlantic destination in the season.
