NBAA-BACE Flight Deck to Host Business Aviation Expert Sessions

NBAA will use the Flight Deck at NBAA-BACE 2026 to host discussions on cybersecurity, standard operating procedures, maintenance capacity, radio-altimeter interference, advanced air mobility and aviation careers. The programme will run from 20 to 22 October at the Las Vegas Convention Center and Henderson Executive Airport, placing operational, regulatory and workforce issues before business aviation operators and suppliers.

Tuesday’s programme begins with a session on cyber threats facing Part 91 and Part 135 operators at 10:30 a.m., followed by a discussion on standard operating procedures at noon. The SOP session will examine an industry initiative led by NBAA, FlightSafety and CAE to address procedural deficiencies associated with flight safety.

A 1:30 p.m. session will consider mergers, partnerships and the outlook for independent and large-brand maintenance providers as technician shortages, ageing facilities and consolidation continue to constrain MRO capacity. At 2:45 p.m., experts from the General Aviation Manufacturers Association and Garmin International will address radio-altimeter requirements, installation timelines and potential funding through the FCC clearinghouse. The issue is linked to planned upper-C-band spectrum auctions and the risk of interference with adjacent radio-altimeter frequencies.

The day will close with a live AviationStart careers podcast recording. Wednesday’s programme includes discussions on advanced air mobility infrastructure, artificial intelligence and aviation career development, while Thursday will feature NBAA Collegiate Connect for students exploring professional opportunities across the sector.
