The U.S. Marine Corps received its 359th and final MV-22B Osprey on 28 July 2026, completing the program of record for the tiltrotor aircraft. The delivery took place at the Bell Amarillo Assembly Center in Texas and went to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 162, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing. The milestone ends Marine Corps Osprey production and shifts attention to sustaining and modernising the fleet.
The service said the aircraft will remain a central assault-support asset and is expected to stay in operation until 2055. With procurement complete, the Marine Corps is now focusing on sustainment, readiness, upgrades and modernisation rather than new-aircraft deliveries.
The Osprey entered Marine service in 2007 and has since accumulated more than 686,500 flight hours across 114 operational deployments. The final delivery marks a transition for the Bell Textron and Boeing industrial team from serial production to long-term support work for the fleet.
