Lufthansa Technik extends Emirates A380 maintenance deal through 2030

Lufthansa Technik and Emirates have extended their Airbus A380 base-maintenance partnership, with Lufthansa Technik Philippines set to continue heavy checks on the airline’s superjumbo fleet through 2030. The work will remain centred at the company’s existing Manila facility, where two dedicated base-maintenance lines are assigned to Emirates.

Emirates will also be the launch customer for Lufthansa Technik Philippines’ new facility at Clark International Airport when it opens. The partners have already completed more than 30 A380 checks since the cooperation began in 2023, and the latest contract is described as one of the largest in Lufthansa Technik Philippines’ history by value.

The agreement secures a key maintenance stream for the world’s largest A380 operator while underpinning Lufthansa Technik Philippines’ expansion in the Asia-Pacific MRO market. Clark is expected to broaden the company’s widebody support capacity as it builds out its Philippine maintenance footprint alongside the long-running Manila operation.
