Lockheed Martin has secured an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract worth up to $1.2 billion from the US Army for Precision Strike Missile Increment 2, the latest version of the service’s next-generation long-range precision fires weapon. The award covers initial procurement, future orders, follow-on production and continued development, after the missile completed a second flight test in August that showed it could engage moving maritime targets.
Increment 2 adds a multimode seeker to the PrSM family, expanding the weapon’s ability to strike moving land and sea targets. The programme is intended to replace older Army tactical missile capabilities with longer-range precision strike options, including an anti-ship role for the latest variant.
Work will be carried out at Lockheed Martin facilities across its US industrial base, with additional flight tests planned for 2027. The exact number of missiles covered by the contract was not disclosed.
