Jetstream Aviation Capital has delivered one Saab 340B(F) cargo aircraft to Ryan Air, giving the Alaska-based operator its first example of the type. The aircraft, serial 340B-329, will support scheduled and charter freight services across Western Alaska, where air transport remains essential for communities spread across a vast and remote region.
Ryan Air operates Cessna, CASA, Pilatus and Saab aircraft and serves more than 80 destinations in Alaska. The addition of the twin-turboprop freighter expands dedicated cargo capacity for routes that depend on regular uplift of goods and supplies.
A separate industry report placed the aircraft in Anchorage after a flight from Bellingham, but the delivery date in the Jetstream release was 4 August. The Saab 340B(F) is a purpose-built freighter variant, suited to short-haul cargo work in markets where payload, frequency and operating flexibility are more important than long-range performance.
