JetBlue raises checked-bag fees, with first bag now $55 on peak dates

JetBlue has raised checked-bag fees for tickets booked from 3 November, setting the price of a first bag on US, Canadian, Latin American and Caribbean routes at $50 off-peak or $55 on peak dates when paid more than 24 hours before departure. A second bag costs $70 or $75, respectively. The increase is the airline’s second baggage-fee rise this year, ahead of the holiday travel period.

JetBlue’s published rates also set a $200 charge for a third or subsequent checked bag on those routes. Peak dates include 5–11 and 19–30 November, as well as all of December 2026. The available fee information does not establish a $100 charge for the first or second bag; rates for payment within 24 hours of departure are not included here.

The new fees apply to bookings made from 3 November. Customers with earlier reservations are directed to check Manage Trips for the charges applicable to their itinerary. Some fare types, loyalty members and eligible cardholders are exempt from bag fees. JetBlue attributed the increase to higher fuel and operating costs, according to CBS News.
