The International Business Aviation Council has introduced a self-declaration option for ground handlers seeking IS-BAH participation, creating a new pathway that can reduce reliance on the standard audit process. The change is aimed at making the Safety Accreditation Handbook programme easier to access for fixed-base operators and other ground handling providers.
IS-BAH, IBAC’s safety accreditation framework for business aviation ground handling, has traditionally depended on an audit-based route. The self-declaration option offers an alternative for eligible participants and is intended to streamline entry into the programme while preserving its operational standards.
The new route is commercially relevant for handlers looking to shorten timelines and lower the cost and administrative burden associated with accreditation. It may also broaden uptake of IS-BAH across the sector by giving providers a less complex starting point for participation.
