Anduril has released footage of a U.S. Army H-60M Black Hawk rocket-launching an Altius-700 during Project Convergence Capstone 6, showing a crewed helicopter using launched effects to extend sensing and strike reach. The test centred on an autonomous “hunter-killer team” concept, in which the Altius-700 found a target, shared data across the formation and struck it while the Black Hawk stayed outside the highest-threat airspace.
The demonstration sits within the Army’s Air-Launched Effects effort, which aims to let Army Aviation project sensors and weapons further into contested areas without placing crews directly in the threat envelope. Reporting linked the activity to testing over the Mojave Desert, while earlier Army work has also involved H-60M A-LE flights at Fort A.P. Hill in Virginia.
Anduril did not publicly identify every launched effect used across the wider exercise, so the exact configuration visible in the footage is inferred from the company’s wording and related reporting. The likely munition is the armed Altius-700M variant, which has been described as carrying a warhead of up to 33 lb and reaching roughly 160 km, although that subtype was not fully confirmed in the material available.
