A Fiat Panda service vehicle struck the nose section of a Hawker Beechcraft 400A private jet at Milan Linate Airport on Monday morning, briefly suspending traffic at the Italian hub. No injuries were reported among the aircraft crew, passengers or the driver, while the collision forced two incoming flights to divert and triggered an investigation into how the ground incident unfolded.
The jet, registered I-AERB, was taxiing in the airport’s general aviation area toward the runway when the Panda crossed its path around 11:20 local time. Emergency crews, including firefighters, medics and police, secured the scene after the impact. Visible damage was reported on both the aircraft and the vehicle, including the jet’s nose and radar dome and heavy damage to the Panda’s passenger side.
Operations resumed after about 30 to 40 minutes, with arrivals temporarily redirected to Bergamo/Orio al Serio and Milan Malpensa. Early reporting has pointed to possible driver distraction or a medical issue, but the cause has not been confirmed.
