Emirates unveils premium economy seat with powered privacy screen for A350s

Emirates has unveiled a new Premium Economy seat for its Airbus A350 fleet featuring a full-height electrically operated privacy divider, a rare design feature for the cabin. The Dubai carrier is positioning the product on its latest A350 services as part of a wider cabin upgrade strategy, combining greater privacy with wireless charging, 4K entertainment and other comfort-focused features.

The seat can be adjusted electronically, including the privacy screen, which can be raised or lowered at the touch of a button. The layout places Premium Economy in a 2-3-2 configuration with 28 seats on the A350, giving the cabin a more spacious intermediate product between Economy and Business Class.

Emirates introduced Premium Economy in 2022 and has since expanded it across selected A380s, retrofitted Boeing 777s and the A350 fleet. The latest product raises the bar for the segment by adding powered privacy controls and a more lounge-like seat design, including a leather headrest, deployable footrest and preset recline positions.
