Emirates SkyCargo transported more than 22,000 tonnes of export cargo from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Ecuador between April and September 2026, an 18% year-on-year increase. The growth followed the addition of seven weekly freighter flights to the region, including new or expanded services to Buenos Aires, São Paulo, Bogotá and Quito, supporting shipments of flowers, fresh produce and other cargo.
Export volumes increased by 57% in Argentina, 22% in Brazil, 18% in Colombia and 14% in Ecuador during the first half of Emirates’ 2026/27 fiscal year. Buenos Aires received three additional weekly freighter frequencies, São Paulo two, and Bogotá and Quito one each, with the Argentine operation rising to three weekly flights from July.
Ecuador remains the largest South American export market for Emirates SkyCargo. The addition of a sixth weekly freighter frequency from Quito in May lifted the market’s export capacity to approximately 600 tonnes per week. Across the four markets, the carrier has transported nearly 80,000 tonnes since April 2024, including about 66,000 tonnes of flowers.
