Emirates SkyCargo launches dedicated AI infrastructure service

Emirates SkyCargo has launched AI Tech, a dedicated service for transporting artificial-intelligence infrastructure, including server racks, semiconductors, chips and GPUs. Available across most of the carrier’s global network, it combines priority loading and scheduling with specialised handling, shipment milestone visibility and proactive coordination monitored through the company’s Dubai command centre. Oversized or heavy consignments can receive project-cargo support, subject to advance assessment where specialised equipment requires confirmation of station capabilities.

The service is aimed at equipment used in AI infrastructure deployments, where cargo may be valuable, sensitive or difficult to handle. Emirates SkyCargo reported moving more than 700 tonnes of AI infrastructure across its network in July. The service has no published prices, named customers, specified routes or service-level guarantees.

The carrier expects to operate 23 dedicated freighters by March 2027, alongside cargo capacity on its wide-body passenger aircraft. Emirates cites server racks weighing more than 3.5 tonnes as an example of equipment its freighters can carry. Highly specialised manufacturing equipment is not automatically accepted under the service; station capability must first be assessed.
